Wendy was
born at Mercy Hospital in Monroe, Michigan. She
lived in Petersburg, Michigan most of her life until
two years ago when she moved to Bolles Harbor, a
mile from Monroe Boat Club. She graduated from
Summerfield High School. Throughout school, she was
actively involved in sports including basketball,
softball, volleyball, and track. After graduating
she joined a women's softball team, which she
enjoyed for several years.
Wendy is
the oldest of five children; she has three sisters
and one brother. She has one son, John Miller and a
grandson, Trent. All of her family reside in
Petersburg, except her youngest sister who lives in
LaSalle, Michigan.
Wendy has
always been a working person. She started earning
her own money when she was a teenager, and in the
80's, she was raising five children, working a full
time job, and was the owner of the Farmer's Market
in Dundee. She eventually retired from the Ford
Motor Company (Milan Plant) on May 1st, 2008.
She married Rick Campbell on September 17th, 2004,
after an eight year
relationship. He introduced her to boating, and she
became involved in events and projects around the
club. In 2006 she was asked to be the Membership
Chairperson. Since that time she has served as the
Power Fleet Captain, Rear Commodore, Vice Commodore,
and now Commodore.
Monroe Boat
Club has undergone numerous improvements and
accomplished many projects under Wendy's guidance.
Her devotion to Monroe Boat Club has been a great
benefit to the club and its members. Wendy is
looking forward to leading Monroe Boat Club as the
2010 Commodore and representing MBC along with her
Gentleman Rick throughout the year.
